Equipment & Software Experience

As a journalist I own the basic equipment for shooting video and photography and editing my work. I am proficient with DSLR cameras and various types of video cameras.

SOFTWARE

I'm proficient in using numerous software applications, including the following: iMovie; InDesign; NewsEdit; Adobe Photoshop; Microsoft Excel; Microsoft Word; and PowerPoint. I am familiar with both Mac and Windows operating systems.

EQUIPMENT

Nikon D3000 - My primary camera used for still photography is a Nikon D3000 SLR digital camera. I have two base lenses: a 55-200mm zoom lens for shooting at a distance; and a 18-55mm lens for close-up shots and wide views.

Sony Cyber-shot - This handheld digital camera includes video capability and is my primary video camera. It's certainly not a top of-the-line piece, but it gets the job done quite capably with good quality video.

Liquid Image Video Camera Goggle - Best use for action photography, the Liquid Image goggle cam can provide a first-person vantage point for unique story approaches. I have used it sparingly for professional applications but use it quite often for personal recreation. It is capable of shooting in 1280 HD.

Toshiba Satellite laptop - My primary writing and editing computer is a Toshiba Satellite laptop. I use this both for photo and video editing as well.

Miscellaneous - I always aim to shoot my video with a tripod unless not applicable for the situation.
